Redd's Derby Diary: Tiger Bay vs Leeds and Rebellion.

Nice little round up from reddsderbydiary:

This weekend was full of derby goodness! Saturday morning Mr chaz tizer and I headed to the Newport centre bright and early to set the track out for what promised to be a day of great derby. We are responsible for setting the hall up on bout day along with the lovely Trauma Broad and Andy our score board guru. The set up went smoothly and soon it was time for the bouts to begin.

TBB’s B Team vs Rebellion Roller Derby.
I was on the inside white board for this game so unfortunately did not get to see as much of the game as I would have liked. We were a man down in the centre so were kept pretty busy tracking the penalties and I LOVED it! I really enjoyed nso’ing with such an experienced crew. What game play I saw was impressive and it was a hard fought game with Tiger Bay taking the win. Both teams played their hearts out and should be proud of their performances.

TBB’s A Team vs Leeds Roller Dolls.
This was a game we were ready for, trained for and hungry for. As a team we have really challenged ourselves this year. We played UVF, LRG’s season champs and cane away with a forty point differential. Rainy city’s A Team, LRR who beat us last year. They had all been building to this game. As a team we are constantly striving to push ourselves, progress and play the highest quality game play. Leeds were a challenge and one we relished. Our communication and team work was the best its ever been and we loved every hit, sweep and wall that we gave and received. It was simply brilliant to have the opportunity to play the 6th ranked team in Europe and hold our own. We gave away a few too many penalties in the second half and their lead crept away but that is the difference between a fresh team and a team with three more years experience than us. We will get there in time and learnt loads from this game that will only improve our ability in the future.

So excited for the rest of this year and for the next year of bouting.
Brawler love
Xxx
